about
Having teased awaiting fans over the past couple of years with a run of stand-alone singles, features and collaborations, Oscar Key Sung now turns his attention toward a brand new EP, No Disguise. Set for release on May 25 through Good Manners Records, it’s his first full body of work since 2015, and proves to be another indication of the unique artist’s immense talent. Alongside this exciting news, he today shares the EP’s first single ‘Simple Luv’, a track which combines his wide range of inspirations to perfect effect.
Of the track, Oscar says;
‘Simple luv is a naive and hopeful manifestation spell. I intended to conjure all I want by imagining it clearly in a song. It is implicit in the song that I have been lost: “tunnels without a light”. But for no smart reason I still believe there is a veritable garden of Eden waiting just beyond. When I say “watch it all back like flash”, it is a reference to the movie “Tampopo” where a charter explains that when we die a kaleidoscope of our best memories plays before our eyes like a film in our final breath. Like flash.’
